One app, one job, one person.
Phonecast streams your Mac's audio to an iPhone over USB or Wi-Fi so you can check mixes on a real phone speaker. It shows up on the Mac as a normal audio output; the free iPhone app plays whatever you send it, lossless, live. That is the whole product, and it is the whole company.
Why it exists
The phone check is not optional anymore. More people will hear a mix on a phone speaker than on any monitor ever made, and the phone disagrees with the studio about everything that matters: bass, width, dynamics. The traditional way to consult it is to bounce a file, send it to yourself, find it, and play it. That loop is slow enough that it happens once at the end of a session instead of at every decision that needed it.
Phonecast exists to collapse that loop to one click, so the most important speaker in the room gets consulted while the fader is still in your hand. The long version of the argument is in the phone speaker mix check.
Who makes it
Phonecast is built and run by Inbal Sofer, independently. One person writes the app, answers support, and signs off on every word on this site. There is no growth team, which is also why there is no newsletter popup.
The No-BS terms
- The Mac app is a free download that installs locked. A one-time $29 license unlocks streaming on up to 4 Macs. There is no trial, and no subscription, ever.
- 14-day refund window, no questions. The terms say it in writing.
- Your audio never leaves your devices. No cloud, no telemetry. USB never touches the network; Wi-Fi streaming is TLS-encrypted between your own signed-in devices. Details in the privacy policy.
- Updates ship through the app and are listed in the changelog.
