# Third-Party Notices
Phonecast includes or builds upon the following third-party materials. Their
licenses are reproduced or referenced below as required.
## Apple "NullAudio" sample code: CoreAudio AudioServerPlugin
The audio driver (`driver/src/Phonecast.c`) is derived from Apple's *NullAudio*
sample code, used under the **Apple Sample Code License**. The Apple copyright
and full license text are retained verbatim at the top of that source file:

Apple's name, trademarks, service marks, and logos are **not** used to endorse
or promote this product, consistent with that license.
## Sparkle: auto-update framework (Mac app)
The Mac app bundles **Sparkle 2.x** (<https://sparkle-project.org>) to deliver updates,
since it ships as a direct download rather than through the Mac App Store. Sparkle is
embedded as `Sparkle.framework` (including its `Updater.app`, `Downloader.xpc` and
`Installer.xpc` helpers).

- **IBM Plex Mono**: SIL Open Font License 1.1
Both are self-hosted on the website as WOFF2 subsets under the terms of the OFL
(the OFL permits redistribution; the fonts are not sold). The macOS and iOS apps
render the system font (San Francisco) through Apple's system APIs; no font
files are bundled or shipped with the apps.

## Backend services (server-side)
The Stripe webhook Edge Function (`backend/`) imports at deploy time:

These run on the server and are not distributed within the client applications.
## Third-party product names
Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, Mac, iPhone, macOS, App Store, and TestFlight are
trademarks of Apple Inc. Ableton Live and Pro Tools are trademarks of their
respective owners. All are used nominatively, only to indicate compatibility.
Phonecast is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
## Website demo audio
The landing page's "translation preview" demo plays a ~10s excerpt of "Disco
funk loops 001 remix 3 short loop with drums 120 bpm.wav" by josefpres
(freesound.org/s/572397/), dedicated to
the public domain under Creative Commons 0 (CC0 1.0). No attribution is
required; this notice records provenance. License verified against the live
freesound page on 2026-07-30 ("Creative Commons 0",
creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/).

The website self-hosts WOFF2 subsets of Inter and IBM Plex Mono, so the license that covers them is reproduced here in full, as the notices above state and as the license itself requires. The Mac and iPhone apps bundle no font files.
